WSN for Building Tilt Monitoring
This is an old story from my company. There was a landslide in wangsamaju area, KL, somewhere in 2006 (you may want to view the news in here).
As the result, most of the residents in that area had to be evacuated. Meanwhile, the authorities decided to put our wireless tilt sensor in the flats, to measure the buildings safety.
So, here’s the view of our WSN tilt sensors in action:
Our sensor installation point
That’s our infamous WSN gateway, with the tipping bucket (to measure rain fall) on top and solar panel in its side. Its function is reading the tilt measurements (from the sensors on the walls) and the rain fall, then report the data to our head quarter using GPRS.
